𝟑𝟎 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬! That’s how long you have to interact with De Asa to feel her passion on the subject of diversity, equity, and inclusion! And this passion is backed by deep understanding and knowledge, skills, and the boundless energy that she brings to bear in her efforts to ‘move the needle’ on associated efforts e.g. supplier diversity. From raising general awareness within the organization, to acting as a ‘matchmaker’ between department leadership and MWBEs, to working hard to help M/WBEs understand the organization’s needs and to ensure that the capacity and capability they bring to the table are sufficient (and mentoring them when it is not), etc. De Asa superbly supported the Supply Chain department. Additionally, she supported and played roles in the DEI-associated efforts of different departments (for example, Community Engagement, Government Relations, Construction, etc.).
With her help we made many structural changes (e.g. requiring diverse supplier inclusion in every RFP, etc.) and experimented with other efforts (e.g. setting up some M/WBE suppliers as ‘pre-pay’ or ‘immediate pay’ vendors as opposed to the standard ‘Net 30’ to help with their cash flow, etc.) and improved the organization’s already strong M/WBE inclusion results.
I would recommend De Asa without any reservations and vouch for her abilities and capabilities. Whoever she works for will be lucky to have her; and I have no doubt that she will have great success in all her future endeavors!
